Oconee County Library Hosts Pumpkin Decorating Contest

The Oconee County Library’s Pumpkin Decorating Contest is happening this week. The contest is open to kids age 0 to 11. The children are encouraged to bring their favorite book characters to life through the pumpkins.

On Monday, Ballard hosted a workshop where she provided decorating supplies for the children. Some kids went in with the intention of entering their pumpkins in the contest but loved their design so much, that they wanted to take them home.

The last day to enter the contest is this upcoming Friday, Oct. 28. Anyone who visits the library can vote on their favorite pumpkin. On Saturday, the votes will be tallied up and the winning pumpkin artist will receive a prize basket full of books and toys.
