Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Uses Social Media To Their Advantage

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is causing quite a storm on Facebook.  The number of likes it now has amounts to over half the county’s population. Some of these likes are from people who simply enjoy the funny, light-hearted posts.  Reporter Kenna Rodgers spoke with the man behind the Facebook legend.

Sheriff Scott Berry says he was totally against Facebook to begin with, but the office has found a lot of uses for it.  It helps identify fugitives, locate missing persons, issue weather warnings, and even find lost pets.  In all, he says the Facebook helps better serve the community.
