The Christmas Tree of Athens is now Downtown for all of Athens to see. The Landscape Division of Athens-Clarke County started unloading the Christmas tree around 11:30 am, and worked hard all day and evening to make sure they finished before the rainfall.

Jenny Connell, a supervisor in the Landscape Division of Athens-Clarke County said they planned on putting up nearly 1,000 light bulbs on the 30-foot-tall Christmas Tree.

The official lighting of the Christmas Tree will take place at Athens-Clarke City Hall on Thursday evening right after the Annual Christmas Parade.
