The Rape and Sexual Violence Prevention Student Group is taking credit for more sexual assaults being reported on campus, because more incidents being reported means their efforts to educate the community are working. 5 times more rapes were reported on UGA’s campus this past year than the year before.

Sexual assault on college campuses continues to be in the spotlight…and the University of Georgia is no exception.  5 times more rapes were reported on UGA’s campus this past year than the year before.  The head of a student group seeking to prevent sexual violence thinks there may be countless more victims that are simply afraid to speak up.

The president of the Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention group says even more would be reported but victims think they are partially to blame. Madison Turner is working tirelessly to change this social and cultural misconception.
