Politicians Debate Carry Guns on Campus Bill

By Brittany Denny

The Georgia Legislation ended on thursday at midnight. There were still many controversial bills in debate before the session ended. Bill 101 is the primary gun bill that would allow certified people to carry guns on campus. This bill passed in both the House and the Senate but neither chamber could agree on points within the bill. After the chambers couldn’t agree the bill went into a conference committee but ultimately they could not come up with a finalized bill. Therefore Senate bill 101 did not pass but I was live at the capitol and interviewed Athens Representatives Spencer Frye, Chuck Williams and Regina Quick. They all had different view points on the bill.
