Softball is Second Most Popular Sport on Social Media After Football

Reporter Morgan Weeks spoke with the softball team’s Sports Information Director, Jen Galas, who runs the team’s Twitter account. She also sat down with Grady Sports Media’s Welch Suggs to learn about how social media brings fans closer to their favorite team, even when they are not at the event.

 

Athens, Ga. — Jack Turner Softball Stadium may hold 92,000 fans like Sanford, but when it come s to social media, the softball comes in second to football. The program racks up 16,000 followers on Twitter. Reporter Morgan Weeks tells us how social media impacts the fan’s experience at 5 p.m.
