Athens, GA – The pomp and circumstance of graduation is only one month away.

Some of these soon-to-be alumni of The University of Georgia will join the near 85% of UGA students who are on a six-year graduation track. These students started in the fall of 2009 as full-time freshmen and completed their bachelor’s degree or professional program in an area like pharmacy or veterinary medicine.

According to the University of Georgia Office of Public Affairs, UGA’s six-year graduation rate for 2014 is around 1.5% higher than last year’s rate. The rate is also notably higher than the national average of 59%. About 83% of UGA students graduate within five years, and 63% earn their degrees in four years.

UGA Four-Year Graduation Rate                2014: 63%                       2013: 62.4%

UGA Five-Year Graduation Rate                 2014: 83%                       2013: 80.6%

UGA Six-Year Graduation Rate                   2014: 84.6%                    2013: 83.2%
