UGA Track and Field Star Named 2018 NCAA Woman of the Year

Keturah Orji is living the dream after being named 2018 NCAA Woman of the Year Oct. 28. NCAA flew out the top 30 finalists to their headquarters in Indiana for a full weekend of events and the big show.

Gaining the title was the least Orji expected when she was recommended by UGA Athletics to apply for the award. Orji had been a part of the Track and Field team since her freshman year and graduated last spring.

Orji is currently working on her master’s degree and continues to train with Georgia’s Track and Field team. She signed a contract with the Atlanta Track Club after graduation to pursue her goals of competing in the World Championships and Olympics in 2020.

Shayla Strange is a senior majoring in Journalism.
