UGA Women’s Tennis Sweeps SEC Opening Weekend

The Georgia Women’s tennis team started off the opening of the regular season with two wins.

The Dawgs beat LSU on Friday, 6-1, in their first outdoor match of the season. They took on Texas A&M yesterday and despite losing doubles, they were able to bounce back and win the match, 5-2.

Freshman Kennedy Shaffer clinched the win for Georgia, winning her third set, 6-1. Shaffer talked to Reporter Charlette Hall about what it was like to get that win and to be able to contribute to the team.

The team will travel to Tuscaloosa this Friday to take on Alabama at 6 p.m.
