Oglethorpe County commissioners may prohibit new chicken farms from being located in certain areas (marked in blue on map above).
An amendment to current zoning laws is being proposed because many residents oppose a recent rezone application that would bring 12 new chicken houses to the county. Commissioners will discuss the amendment at their next meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. Grady NewSource will keep you updated on their decision.
