Watkinsville Bakery to Supply for Whole Foods

WATKINSVILLE- One local bakery’s products will be seen in stores throughout the southeast.  KiKi’s Bakery of Watkinsville will soon have three of its products for sale in Whole Foods stores.  Those 33 stores will be in 6 different states: Georgia, Tennessee, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina and Alabama.  This news comes with the bakery’s first anniversary.

Owner Kirsten Bradford says she gained the contacts from a past venture where she made and sold chocolate cookie dough, but she says her first entrance into stores was not so easy.

Bradford came to Watkinsville after she said she grew tired of her past job. Here’s what she had to say about it.

She says all of the products for Whole Foods will continue to be sold at her current bakery.  Even if they grow to where they need more space, she still plans to keep her bakeshop open.  After they make and package all of the products, the distribution company will take it to the stores.  The first shipment will go out to all 33 of the stores, but the plans for later shipments are still being worked out.
