Weather Closings in Northern Georgia area

ATHENS, GA — UPDATE: The National Weather Service has lifted the freezing rain advisory in Clarke County. There were 28 counties in the state of Georgia with an advisory Monday morning.

Several schools announced closings, including:

The Consumer Energy Center has outlined precautions you can take in the event of an emergency weather situation.

If the power goes out, the Center suggests locating circuit breakers, having candles and flashlights with extra batteries on hand and outlining communication methods.
