UPDATE —
The woman has been identified as Casey Devanna, 32. Devanna is from Florida. An autopsy is being preformed today.
DEVELOPING —
Police will not release the name of a woman found dead in a local hotel until they notify her next of kin. A housekeeping staff personnel of the Best Western on North Milledge Avenue in Athens found the woman at around 2 PM yesterday.
An autopsy will be preformed to determine the cause of death.
The only information police have released is that the woman was accompanied by a man when she checked into the hotel. No one was at the scene when police arrived.
More details to come as they are released.
