Greenlight A Vet Campaign Spotlights Returning Veterans

By Richard Banton

The Greenlight A Vet campaign is asking everyone to change one light bulb green on November 11 for Veterans Day.

In cooperation with several veterans groups, the Walmart campaign encourages people to to green light these bulbs in visible locations such as on a porch or in an office. According to the website, over 400,ooo have pledged to support.

The gesture claims to symbolize the camouflage that veterans often carry home from active duty.

Marine Sergeant Justin Sailers said the transition was challenging for two reasons. He needed to adjust to civilian life and returning to school.

Sailers said returning home was all about learning how to slow down and relax.
