9 States to Discuss Police-Involved Shootings

STOCKBRIDGE– Representatives from 9 Southeastern bureaus of investigation are meeting with the public this morning to discuss officer involved shooting investigations.

The meeting will focus on issues with police involved shootings, lessons learned from investigations, and law enforcement polices in use when investigation police use of force incidents.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is hosting the meeting in Stockbridge, Georgia this morning. The meeting includes representatives and members from the Association of State Criminal Investigative Agencies (ASCIA). We have two Grady Newsource reporters, Kimberly Johnson and Sierra Grady, at the meeting speaking with the representatives from 9 different states.

Representatives from the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Kentucky State Police, Louisiana State Police, Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are present at the meeting and are speaking with the press today.
