UGA Develops Gadget to Detect Smell of Sick Onions

ATHENS —  There could be a major decrease in the number of diseased onions coming out of the state of Georgia. A new gadget developed by University of Georgia detects the rotten smell coming off of sick onions. Onion production is a more than 160 million dollar industry in the state of Georgia. The leaders of the research says the new technology would cut down on labor costs and provide more onions for consumers.
