Georgia Religious Freedom Bill Protest

ATLANTA — An LGBT rights group is planning a protest of a religious freedom bill currently making it’s way through congress.

Georgia Equality is protesting the “Georgia Religious Freedom Restoration Act” which would substantially prevent a person’s ability to exercise his or her religion.

Critics believe that this bill would allow for the discriminate of gays, lesbians, and transgendered people.

The bill’s chances of passing grew slimmer Monday but the rally was still planned for Tuesday afternoon at Central Presbyterian Church.

Update 12:10 pm: Reporter Steven Farmer is outside the capital waiting to talk to protestors.
