Cloudy With a Chance of Golfballs: Liz Murphey Invitational to Begin

The green may look more like mud on the golf course with the storm coming in, but that won’t stop the golfers. The Liz Murphey invitational is still on, with 12 teams flying in from as far as Oregon to compete in Athens this weekend.

Looking at the names slated for the tournament, it looks more like a tease for Nationals. Eight of the top twelve teams in the nation are here, and UGA head coach Josh Brewer says that a win this weekend will give his team tons of confidence heading into the postseason.

Now with the rain, there will be a shotgun start for tomorrow’s rounds. That means instead of sending golfers on the course in group, everyone starts swinging at the same time.
