Grady Event Addresses Journalism Field Prospects

Is the field of journalism being affected by the current era of “fake news?”

Today, the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications held a career fair in the University of Georgia’s Tate Grand Hall for its students. Students had the opportunity to meet with professionals in the news and communications industry. Does the rhetoric being incited by President Trump, deter students from pursuing careers in the journalism field?

Reporter Ashlyn Bennett spoke with Karli Barnett, a news anchor, University of Georgia professor Dr. Keith Herndon and others to find out how negative connotations of the media affects journalism students and potential news careers.
