Student Teachers at UGA: Impact over Pay

TIME Magazine just released their latest cover story that quotes educators saying: “I have a masters degree, 16 years of experience, work two extra jobs and donate blood to pay the bills. I’m a teacher in America.”

Teachers are earning less on average than they did in 1990, according to the Department of Education data.

Student teachers at the University of Georgia, Demi Pfeffer and Chanley Reeves, have accepted what their financial future will be.

“After my different experiences teaching children, I feel that they’ve needed me in certain ways that I would never change my mind at this point,” said Reeves.
