New details were released today in the case of a man accused of killing another in Barrow County on Saturday. The Sheriff’s Department incident report states the suspect, Paul Hamilton, reportedly warned a deputy that if he caught someone on his property, “You’ll need to call a coroner.”

Hamilton reportedly made the threat hours before a Barrow County deputy was called to the scene, where Brandon Lay of Winder, Georgia, was found shot to death in a car about 10:30 p.m. The police report adds that Hamilton told the deputy he drew his firearm and shot the victim.

The homicide occurred at the intersection of Charlie Hall Road and Old Hog Mountain Road.
