Some teachers in Barrow County will see a pay raise starting January 2016. The Barrow County Board of Education approved the Salary and Compensation Study Proposal on Oct. 8 to give pay raises to many Barrow County School System employees.
This chart shows the former salary for teachers with a bachelors degree compared to the new salary approved Tuesday night.
Here is the salary of Barrow County teachers with a bachelors degree compared to teachers salaries in Oconee, Clarke, and Jackson based on the fiscal year 2015 Metro RESA Teaching Salary Survey.
With the new salary schedule, a teachers with zero to two years of experience and a Bachelor’s Degree will have a starting salary at $35,924. A teacher will a Master’s Degree will have a salary at $40,938; Specialist Degree, $46,185; and Doctoral Degree, $51,163.
