Barrow County, GA- 52 year old Sergeant Faye Spaulding is Barrow County Sheriff Department’s oldest and only woman sergeant. They call her Mama Faye because of her motherly tendencies. She says her job is to uphold the law, but it does take a toll on her sometimes… She says she just holds it together for the job.
Faye works in the Crimes Against Persons Unit for the Barrow County Sheriff Department, and has been with the county for 19 years. Reporter Didi Abdulnabi sat down with Mama Faye to show you what it’s like to be the only woman in the office.
