Coaches vs. Cancer

Watkinsville, GA -Coaches vs. Cancer is a charity basketball tournament that will be held over the weekend at the Veteran Park Gym in Oconee County. The tournament will be on Sunday, January 25th from 1-7 PM.

The teams will consist of 3 or 4 person teams. Each team will receive a T-shirt for participating, and the winners could win free pizza for up to a year. The entire $50 fee for each team will go to the American Cancer Society for cancer research.

One organizer of the tournament has been affected by cancer.

“Cancer has really impacted me personally,” Dan Taylor says. “Both my parents died of cancer, so it has a personal effect. And whenever you hear the words ‘You have cancer,’ it’s pretty devastating.”
