For the first time in more than 15 years, Jackson County’s unemployment rate dropped to 4.3 percent. That makes it the second lowest unemployment rate in the state. The unemployment rate hasn’t been this low since back in 2000 when it hit 4.1 percent. Forsyth and Oconee counties still have the lowest unemployment rates in Georgia, both at 4.2 percent. The Georgia Department of Labor released the data last week.
