Electric Car Owners to Pay for Chargers

If you need a charge to keep your electric vehicle running, you now have to pay for it in Athens-Clarke County.

On Monday Nov. 3, the Athens-Clarke County Mayor and Board of Commissioners enacted a fee for electric car chargers. Watch this video to see the impact of the fees on both the city and on electric car owners and find out why the owners are happy about this fee.

Fees could change moving forward and commissioners said they will consider adding more chargers if the fees make a profit. Here is the full list of charger sites affected.
