Here’s How UGA Students Decorate for Comfort and Relaxation

Posters, plants, paint, pictures and a few oddities create the feeling of home as University of Georgia students settle in for the fall semester in Athens. Decor styles range from boho to coastal to industrial rustic as they personalize their rooms in dorms, apartments, and sorority and fraternity houses.

Classic college furnishings, such as bean bag chairs, join fairy lights and fixtures with exposed bulbs in an effort to bring light into dark spaces.

Take a peek into the rooms of various students, from freshman in UGA’s newest residence hall to a graduate student living in an off-campus apartment.

This interviewing project is by students in Lori Johnston’s home and garden reporting class.
