Holiday Lights Parade Around Athens

ATHENS, GA- Bows, ornaments and bells all topped off with a silver star. The christmas tree, donated by an Arnoldsville couple, will be lit by Santa Claus himself in tomorrow night’s parade of lights.

The parade is themed the ’12 Days of Christmas’ this year. The parade kicks off at the corder of Dougherty and Pulaski streets, ending in front of city hall with the lighting of the tree.

Groups participating in the march include Athens Cine and the Classic Center along with themed floats. Floats will be competing for cash prizes including the top prize of best overall float, which will be given the Mayor’s award.

The Athens tradition that is over 35 years old continues tomorrow night at 7 pm.
