Local Food Bank Aims to Fill Shelves for Holiday Season

One in three kids in Athens don’t know where his or her next meal is coming from.

Eighty percent of families who get food from the Northeast Georgia Food Bank has at least one member working full time. The Northeast Georgia Food Bank is trying to alleviate hunger in Athens through its Fourth Annual Hunger Bowl.

If you would like to register a team or volunteer to sort donations, visit http://www.foodbanknega.org. Donations are due on Nov. 13, which is when the food bank is in need of the most help.
