24 years-old Chad Ruark is still missing nine days. Today his family spoke to the media about it, for the first time. Chad’s brother, Ernie Ruark, says that Chad is not acting like himself at all. He says, “Chad is just not keeping up with his kids, not calling real close family who keep up with him all the time and that’s just not him.”
Police have new leads that came in last night. It’s been over one week and police have gone through various measures to ensure Ruark is found safely:
- Multiple searches of the area in and around his home
- Ruark is entered into an international data base
- An agent from the GBI has been assigned to the case
Sheriff Scott Berry of Oconee County said this morning that police are, “following up on a few investigative leads that came in online and over the phone last night.” Sheriff Berry says that he assigned three investigators to those leads today.
Ruark’s family and friends have not heard from him, but have been willingly working with officers. The Sheriff’s office encourages residents to keep sharing on social media to spread the word about Ruark’s missing status and to contact them if any information is known.
