New ice rink is coming to the Classic Center

Athens, GA — A new removable ice rink is coming to Athens. The Classic Center will now turn into a sporting venue that can fit over 2,000 people.

Special events coordinator, Stephanie VanDyck says this is a great opportunity to fill a void in the Athens area.

“Skating is something that definitely brings the community together,” says VanDyck.

The rink will open to the public on September 21, 2014 right after the Ice Dawgs game against the University of Florida. Admission is $12 and all ages are welcome.
