UPDATE: The suspect is in police custody according to ACCPD’s social media.
Athens Clarke County police are reporting that officers dealing with an armed suspect at the Marathon gas station off of West Broad Street. The street is completely shut down. Epifanio Rodrigez, ACCPD Public Information Officer, tells Grady Newsource that “the scene is still active.”
West Broad Street is completely shut down and they warned the public to avoid the area. This story is developing.
