Positivity Week Helps Students Deal with Suicide

IMG_8758

This week is positivity week at Apalachee High school. The week was created by the Yearbook staff after three students committed suicide in one year.

“I was actually kind of close with one of them so that kind of hit home with me and when Ms. Rehberg told me this was a problem we needed to fix and that Yearbook might be capable of doing it you know, I found a solution for it,” said Tiffany Harris, a senior at Apalachee High school.

The Yearbook staff hopes the pledge will remind students to stay positive. The activities include making candies, writing sweet notes, and treating everyone with respect. The acts of kindness are simple, but Harris and other Apalachee High school students hope they with bring the issues of suicide to light.
