School Awards More Than $5,000 to Student Fighting Cancer

A second grader, who was diagnosed with Leukemia in May 2015, was awarded a check for $5,459.69 on Friday, Nov. 20th.

In the beginning of November, students and teachers at Colbert Elementary School launched a fundraising competition to help their fellow cougar, Jennifer Martin. Through the use of quarters and paper chains, students from Kindergarden through fifth grade were able to raise more than $5,400.
