Update: Tornado Warning Issued in Barrow, Clarke, Jackson Counties

A tornado warning has been issued for Barrow, Clarke, and Jackson county by the National Weather Service. Authorities are advising you seek shelter indoors immediately. The most likely location for a tornado touchdown has been identified as West of Athens in Commerce and Jefferson area.

Get on the ground floor of the building away from windows, with your hands placed over your head. Sit closely next to other people in the building or household.

Sirens have been going off at Sanford Stadium at the University of Georgia. UGA Buses have stopped running and students are not allowed to leave their respective buildings.

Update: The warning expired at 3:15 but a tornado watch is still in place until 6 PM.
