UGA Police Officer Retracts Previous Sexual Assault Allegations

University of Georgia’s Police Department issued additional information about the attempted abduction, sexual assault and rape incident that was issued on September 13, 2016. It was determined that the information that was relayed to the anonymous data form about the assault was incorrect.

The victim stated that as she was walking on the sidewalk that connects Brumby, Russell and Creswell Halls, when she was approached from behind by an unknown male. University of Georgia’s Police Department now concludes that there is no threat to the community or said individuals.

University of Georgia’s Police Department recommends:

  • Travel in groups
  • Be aware of your surroundings
  • Travel in well-lit areas
  • If consuming alcohol, consume responsibly and in moderation
  • Always report if you have concerns about an activity or circumstances
