Warrant Issued for UGA Fraternity President in Shooting

UPDATE: The UGA Greek Life Office has confirmed that the student charged with firing a gun at the Tau Kappa Epsilon house on Saturday is the president of the TKE fraternity at UGA.

ATHENS, GA – UGA Police issued a warrant for the arrest of a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity earlier today. The warrant is for Gregory John O’ Brien on two counts of aggravated assault, reckless conduct, and a weapon on school grounds. O’ Brien is listed as the president of the fraternity on the TKE UGA Chapter’s website. UGA Police Chief Jimmy Williamson says they expect O’ Brien to turn himself in.

A shooting occurred at the Tau Kappa Epsilon house early Saturday morning.. A member of the fraternity fired a gun shot into the air in the direction of Pi Kappa Alpha, another fraternity. The shooter then pointed the gun at members of PKA.
