A New Grant Helps UGA Researchers Make Science Fun For Third Graders

Athens, Ga.– A 1.2 million dollar grant from the National Institute of Health funded a project that will allow researchers in the UGA College of Education to create a science curriculum for third graders. The curriculm will include a software program that will allow students to apply researched-based digital teaching methods to a virtual reality game. One aspect of the software will let students play the role of a veterinarian and diagnose various problems with virtual animals, like cats.
