Anti-Campus Carry Rally Held at Arch Today

Today, The Keep the G Gun Free organization will host a ‘Veto Campus Carry Rally’ at the Arch at 5 PM.

The organization is protesting House Bill 859 that is better known as the Campus Carry Bill. Currently, the bill has passed in the Georgia House and Senate and remains on the Governor’s desk. The Governor Deal has until May 3, 2016 to decide whether to approve Campus Carry.

With the deadline quickly approaching, there have been many rallies to try to influence Governor Deal to veto the bill.

A week ago, UGA students hosted an anti-Campus Carry demonstration at Tate Plaza. Get the full story on what the students hosting think and how this could influence professors to leave their jobs at the University of Georgia: here.
