According to Forbes Magazine, Athens, Georgia is ranked number fifteen for best small place for business and careers. The city is home to a number of startup businesses including:
- Rentpost- This is a company that offers a cloud based software service for renters to keep track of their businesses, and a place for tenants to manage payments as well.
- Zombie Donuts- This was started by a University of Georgia student named Tony Raffa. He has two locations: Washington D.C and Athens, GA.
- Four Athens- This is a company that helps you start your company. According to fourathens.com, they connect you with mentors, talent, funding, and other entrepreneurs.
- Entourage- The first store within this growing chain was started here in Athens. The owner says, she wanted a place where every girl could go shopping on a budget.
Forbes list of Best Small Places For Business, also places Athens, Georgia within the top 100 when looking at the cost of doing business and job growth.
