Canopy Studio Partners With Local School to Teach Trapeze

At most schools, you normally find kids swinging on swing sets and playing kickball games. Well, Chase Street Elementary has a different approach. Trapeze. Canopy trapeze Studio on Tracey Street began partnering with the school last year to provide students with an unusual way to spend the afternoon. After school coordinator, Kathryn Kipling, from Chase Street School says, “They are really far-reaching with the impact that the organization has had and not just on their immediate community. Going to the school they are able to work with a lot of kids who otherwise wouldn’t be able to do this.” The studio’s mission is to enrich the lives of individuals through aerial dance, movement education and performance arts. Not only are kids having fun swinging from ribbons and rope after school, but their future is also taken into account at the same time. Scholarships for school are provided by the studio to the kids. Kipling says, “To have participated in the after-school program, it has extended into scholarships outside the school. It’s just an incredible opportunity. ”
