Hands-On Learning to be Requirement for UGA Undergrads

ATHENS- UGA students will soon be required to be engage in hands-on experiential learning as a part of their graduation requirement. This move was approved by the UGA University Council. Hands-on learning could include activities like research, studies abroad, and internships, but it won’t be limited to just these.

Director of Public Relations for the Provost office Sam Fahmy says that some colleges will need to be creative with how they implement experiential learning.

It won’t go into effect until Fall 2016 at the earliest, and it will only affect incoming students. This requirement won’t be put in place for current undergraduate students.
