The Lead: Tanya Sichynsky On The Flavors Of Food Journalism

Before diving into today’s episode, indulge me for a moment. This is the final episode of Season 8 and my final salute as your host. It’s been a pleasure chatting with incredible media leaders for the past two years, turning these conversations into an interactive e-book and even winning Best Podcast in this year’s Society of Professional Journalists’ Mark of Excellence Awards for Region Three.

Hosting this podcast has given me such valuable skills on interviewing, storytelling and editing. Each episode is its own puzzle, and this has been such a rewarding experience.

Season 8 ends with a bittersweet taste, which is fitting considering today’s episode is on food journalism.

Grady alumna Tanya Sichynsky is a newsletter editor at The Washington Post and the author of Meal Plan of Action, an award-winning 12-week email series that helps readers plan, prep and cook more efficiently. She was a dream to sit down and chat with about the power of food, another unifying facet to an otherwise strange time in the world today.
